CASTRO VALLEY — Join Rowell Ranch Rodeo in celebrating more than a hundred years of roping and riding at this cherished local event. From humble beginnings as neighborly competitions between ranches, it has evolved into a family-friendly event featuring bull riding, team roping, and more.

Rodeo Week kicks off with the Cecil Jones Cowboy Challenge on Wednesday, May 15, followed by the popular BBQ and Dance party. The excitement will lead up to the premier attraction: the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) Pro Rodeo. This weekend-long event will begin with the Rockin’ Bull Bash on Friday, May 17, featuring professional bull riding at its very best.

Each competition will be held under strict animal welfare rules, ensuring the rodeo provides the same exciting yet humane action that ranch founder Harry Rowell intended when he and his wife Maggie started it all in 1921.
