DAVIS — UC Davis will host the 112th annual Picnic Day, one of Northern California’s most beloved spring traditions. Often described as the largest student-run event in the country, Picnic Day serves as the university’s annual open house and welcomes families, alumni, and visitors from across the region.
The celebration features more than 200 activities and demonstrations hosted by university departments and student organizations. Visitors can explore science exhibits, animal presentations, student showcases, food vendors, and live entertainment.
Events begin with an opening ceremony at 9:30am, followed by the traditional Picnic Day Parade at 10:15am. Highlights include the Doxie Derby dachshund races, the Chemistry Magic Show, live performances, and animal demonstrations, celebrating this year’s theme, “The Journey Home: Destination Davis.”
