Taste of Your Town: Almost Famous Wine: Live Music and Local Wine in Livermore

LIVERMORE – Some places make you wonder how everyone else knew about them first. Almost Famous Wine is one of those places.

Tucked into Vasco Row is a wine lounge that apparently forgot it was supposed to be quiet. Behind the doors: a real stage, serious sound and lighting, and fewer than 200 seats — close enough to actually watch the musicians play. Visitors call it a “hidden gem”; one guest who came from San Francisco said it was “worth the trip.”

Then comes our favorite twist: bring dinner. Grab takeout, pack a picnic, order a bottle and make a night of it. The wine is no side act either — more than 15 locally made wines and 50+ top industry awards since 2021.

Diablo named Almost Famous its editors’ pick for best intimate live music experience, and some shows sell out months ahead.

Our advice? Find a show you love and book it before everybody else figures this out.
