Video: Youth Theater Performs “We’re All in This Together” via Zoom

We're All in This Together - I Can Do That Theatre Company

Local youth theatre ensemble, I Can Do That! Theatre Company assembled virtually to create a video performance that’ll have you dancing and singing along, “We’re All in This Together!”

DANVILLE – This week, in the midst of closed schools and shelter in place orders, a group of young performers set up cameras and cleared space on the floor of their bedrooms, living rooms or backyards to come together for a virtual ensemble performance of “We’re All in This Together,” from the soundtrack of Disney’s 2006 film High School Musical.

Get ready to be inspired.  These entertaining kids will have you dancing and singing along to their message of unity. And if their skilled choreography and pure energy aren’t enough to warm your heart, then surely the cameo by a family golden retriever will do the trick. That dog refused to be upstaged.

This wonderful gift of levity comes from I Can Do That! Theatre Company, a youth musical theater training program in Danville. The video performance was posted on their website earlier this week and described as “Danville Kids Spreading Some Joy.” That joy sure feels contagious.

The non-profit theater organization stages 5 productions a year, with High School Musical set to be their next production this spring. It’s unclear how the current public health situation may impact that schedule.

One thing is clear – each of these performers will be on stage again someday, and we’re very much looking forward to that day.

Bravo, kids! Thank you for spreading your joy.
