Out for a day of serious holiday shopping? Need a good place to meet friends and family for breakfast or brunch? Start your day off with a hearty and delicious meal at one of these four options in Solano and Yolo Counties.

Fuso Ristorante

VACAVILLE, CA – Best known for their authentic Italian lunches and dinners, Fuso also serves a great brunch every Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm.

You can order off of their regular menu as well as their special brunch menu. Among the brunch specials are the Smoked Salmon Benedict, Traditional Eggs Benedict, California Omelet (avocado, basil tomato, green chili, jack cheese and sour cream), Steak and Eggs, Italian Scramble, Blueberry Pancakes and Kids Eggs.

All brunch items are served with a selection of assorted breakfast breads, a fruit cup and bottomless Mimosas. Juice and coffee are extra.

WINTERS, CA – More than your hometown coffee shop, Steady Eddy’s caters to the local community, travelers and bicyclists passing through and features house-roasted beans, a full panini, juice and smoothie bar, various breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, salads and a wide array of tempting pastries. They also serve wine and beer.

Daily specials and all sandwiches are served with your choice of plain, wheat or spinach tortilla; plain or wheat Ciabatta, focaccia, sourdough or wheat bread and include your choice of side (chips or salad). Soup of the day and vegetarian chili is served daily.

Bud’s Pub and Grill 

DIXON, CA – Occupying one of Dixon’s most historic buildings and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, this well-known corner café has been ran by owners Bud and Cherie Fanning since 1996.

Brunch is served daily from 6:30am and includes red potatoes or hash browns and choice of toast, English muffin, or homemade biscuit. Build your own breakfast, omelet or enjoy eggs with a New York Steak, pork chops, chicken fried steak or pancakes. They serve a bountiful plate of corned beef hash and offer a huge seafood omelet among other favorites. If you wake up craving lunch, sandwiches are served after 8am.

Tuesday is Taco night (beef tacos are $1.25 each; chicken, shrimp, fish, carnitas and asada, $1.75). Wednesday is Tri-Tip Sandwich Night, which includes choice of fries or salad for $6.99. Thursday is Rib Night. Large beef ribs are only $1.50 each!

FAIRFIELD, CA – Friendly service and cozy atmosphere are welcoming here, but what amazed me was their extensive menu. It features 25 Specialty Omelets, Scrambles and Skillets, Pancakes and Waffles, Country Breakfasts, Sides and Extras as well as lunch options including Hot and Cold Sandwiches, Specialty Plates and Burgers, Soups and Salads, Senior’s and Kid’s Menus.

You can also create your own 3-egg omelet from a list of meats, vegetables and cheeses. Each come with choice of hash brown potatoes, homemade country potatoes, grits or fried rice and choice of toast, homemade biscuit or bagel.
