Spend a weekend checking out what the Suisun Valley has to offer with vineyards, wineries and much more!

SUISUN VALLEY – Just as hints of spring peek through the colder months of winter, Fairfield’s Suisun Valley is also experiencing its own awakening. For nearly two months, the state’s shelter-in-place order prohibited tastings and limited all valley wineries to bottle sales only. As restrictions have recently been lifted, area wineries and specialty farms have re-opened their outdoor patios and picnic areas for locals and day travelers looking to get away for a few hours and experience the rustic, inviting Suisun Valley.

Home to over a dozen tasting rooms, all family-owned, Suisun Valley vintners and farmers are known for treating their guests like extended family. And, like any family separated for so long, they are welcoming back their friends with open arms stretched six feet apart.

Wooden Valley Winery and BackRoad Vines, both open seven days a week, enhanced their outdoor areas adding all-weather canopies and additional seating. Each offers gorgeous views of the valley as visitors enjoy their tastings. Just down the road, Mangels Vineyard added an atrium to its already picturesque garden. The Suisun Valley Wine Co-op, located next door to Mangels and featuring three wineries, added a fire pit that guests have said creates a perfect ambiance as they enjoy the wine.

A little over a mile away on the “valley loop” of Suisun Valley is Mankas Corner. Here, visitors will find Mankas Grill and the Suisun Valley Filling Station. The two have worked together to bring this corner to life with lots of seating for small groups to enjoy wine, beer, and food. For the “foodie” in us all, Il Fiorello Olive Oil Company offers delectable meals-to-go every weekend created with their award-winning oils.

Meanwhile, Suisun Creek Winery and Tolenas Winery are both off the beaten path, and it’s easy to forget you are only miles from a busy city as you take in the scenic views around you.
