Photo: Yelp/Fer R. \nBRENTWOOD – From a schoolhouse built in 1868 and a Burlington Northern Railroad caboose to priceless photographs\, documents and artifacts\, the East Contra Costa Historical Society’s (ECCHS) Museum paints a vibrant picture of the area’s rich past. Organized in 1970\, the ECCHS and its volunteers have meticulously restored and protected a collection of irreplaceable relics. Their goal for the Museum\, known as the Byer-Nail House\, is to promote public awareness\, education and appreciation of East Contra Costa County’s heritage. \nWhile only the outdoor areas are accessible at this time\, the Museum invites you to visit and explore the grounds and enjoy some of the displays.
