SAN RAMON – The month of February will feature two opportunities to go on a free guided nature exploration hike at Las Trampas in San Ramon in search of California Newts.

On Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 23, hikers will be guided on a 1.5-mile journey to get an up-close view of these amphibians in their natural habitat.

Meet at 9:30am at the Las Trampas Bollinger Canyon Staging Area. Participants should wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for the weather and okay to get muddy.

These hikes are drop-in programs; they do not require registration.
