Museum on Main: “The Super Parents”
Fri. Apr 19, 2019 - Fri. Jun 14, 2019Free
PLEASANTON – Did you hear? Superheroes are real and they’re called “Mom” and “Dad.” Deanne Fitzmaurice, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, has set out to show the insurmountable effort and “superpowers” that parents put forth to make sure the health of their chronically ill children is at its best. In shadowing 10 families around California for a day each, Fitzmaurice compiled an impressive and touching body of work documenting their boundless love and sacrifices through photography, interactive elements and heirlooms. Take a step into another family’s world, share their experiences and hardships, and appreciate life in all of its facets.
