EAST BAY – More than 10,000 people participate in the East Bay Regional Park District’s Trails Challenge every year. The self-guided hiking and bicycling program is a great way to explore the East Bay regional parks and to stay in shape. The 2021 Trails Challenge T-shirts and guidebooks are now available for pickup at your local Visitor Center.  The guidebook includes descriptions of 20 trails that are rated for all levels of fitness, from easy to challenging. There’s something for everyone, with trails suitable for hikers, bicyclists, dogs and equestrians. Some trails are also wheelchair accessible. You can view view the complete 2021 Trails Challenge Guidebook in digital form at EBParks.org here.

To complete the challenge, hike five of the 20 trails, or 26.2 miles of trails, within East Bay Regional Park District. Submit your log by December 1, 2021, and receive a commemorative pin starting in late June 2021. Download the free AllTrails app that allows you to see your position on the trail, record your progress and share reviews, photos and read comments from other users.
