Debris from Halley’s Comet will enter Earth’s atmosphere, resulting in a light show you won’t want to miss. View this spectacular phenomenon at its peak before dawn on May 6. Look towards the east and the constellation Aquarius in a dimly lit or completely dark area. An interactive meteor shower sky map to assist in locating the shower is available at TimeAndDate.com.
Supermoon
Wednesday, May 26, 2021
The awesome sight of a supermoon will grace the skies in 2021 twice during the year. Supermoons occur when the Moon is full and is at or near its peak proximity to Earth. This results in a moon that looks 17% larger and 30% brighter than the faintest Moon of the year. The second of this year’s occurrences will be seen on May 26 and is known as the “Super Flower Moon.” Visit TimeAndDate.com for more information.
