From farm-to-fork to quick sushi takeout, you’ll want to keep these restaurant options handy for the next time you dine out.

Rosemary’s Farm to Fork Cafe

DIXON – Wow, just wow! Rosemary’s in Dixon is a must if you’re looking to try a farm-to-fork experience. This one-stop-shop for healthy, fully cooked, fresh (never frozen), paleo meals with a weekly rotating menu will not disappoint.

Rosemary’s Farm to Fork can easily be your new personal chef! Pop in and enjoy their beautiful downtown cafe or sign up for delivery options. Choose to schedule deliveries once or twice a week (within a 100-mile radius) to your doorstep or office! Packages range from 5 to 30 meals weekly; check out their website for all the details.

We stopped into this delightful cafe on a Monday morning to find Rose, the owner, working hard behind the counter. She is a young entrepreneur, and an enchanting individual that holds a wealth of knowledge, energy and experience in feeding and delivering 800-1200 meals a week! She helped us pick out some current cafe favorites and a couple of Bullet Proof coffees as we sat down to one of the best meals I’ve had in the region.

First up was the Smashed Avocado Toast served with delicious, ripe and flavorful avocado, bacon, soft eggs and a few fresh baby tomatoes under a thick slice of spectacular toasted bread. Next came the Kalua Pork & Sweet Potato Tacos. Two tacos plated with tender pork, sweet potatoes, sweet red onions and cilantro wrapped in a specialty tortilla that was so light and flavorful. We ended with an order of the Smoked Salmon Toast that had a nice selection of smoked salmon with more avocado, greens and radishes–again, piled high on that wonderful toasted bread. All of our meals and coffees were amazing and very filling; however the real treat here is Rose and her passion to create delicious, healthy dishes!

BENICIA – Make the trip to downtown Benicia for a Lucca’s Bar & Grill experience. You’ll not only enjoy the dish selections and array of tastes, but marvel over the outdoor beer garden that hosts several FREE bands and musicians Thursdays – Sundays!

We dined inside for their extended menu starting with the Brussels sprouts, served halved and quartered with a light, tasty curry-spiced dipping sauce. Next came a special of Shrimp and Spinach Pasta, served with a spicy, light sauce and topped with a side of garlic bread. Last was an order of salmon, perfectly prepared and displayed, surrounded by lightly sautéed mixed seasonal vegetables.

Yo Sushi in Fairfield has plenty of parking and the large photo board menu will help you get to that meal fast. They offer a few inside tables and two outside picnic tables. The service is very friendly.

I opted for the Seaweed Salad and Teriyaki Chicken Bowl to go. Both were tasty and satisfying. Their huge selection of Sushi Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki Bowls and Katsu/Tempura will certainly satisfy your sushi craving.
